"I'm Twining for You" was the January 2004 sock from
theKnitter SOTM club. It's in super soft Silja, which tends to pill a bit but that may be because I knit these socks a bit looser than I do now, and uses a technique called twining. I intend to make more of these someday!

Hi there!
glad you enjoyed my pattern.I am writing more articles & patterns w/this method [one is in the SWEDEN issue of STRANDED- see www.bonniefranz.com] where i discuss it's historical basis - back to the 1500's! also there's a hat at www.fibreclan.com.
I adore twining, and am working this pattern up now in different colors, and with both fingering and worsted yarns.

Ooohhh! I just found your blog, and I LOVE it!!! :)
I had thought about buying this pattern (I'm Twining for You), but was curious about the technique. I've never done colorwork socks before. Can you tell me a bit about them?
Unfortunately, I didn't join theknitter.com SOTM club until the end of 2004! :( But I'm in for good now!
This pattern was easy to do. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The best I can explain twining is that you are twisting the 2 colors of yarn together as you go alternating colors. Clear as mud?
